How to Measure Your Inseam
The inseam is the length of the inside leg, from the crotch seam to the hem. It is different from your waist size and the overall length of a garment.
Measure a pair that fits
- Lay a pair of similar pants flat and smooth out the fabric without stretching it.
- Find the point where the crotch seams meet.
- Measure along the inside leg seam to the bottom of the hem.
- Compare that measurement with the inseam stated for the HDE style you are shopping.
Choose the length for the style
Capris, shorts and full-length pants are designed to finish at different points. Use the individual product's listed inseam rather than assuming every style in a category is the same length. Fabric stretch, rise and body proportions also affect the fit.
