A 24½-inch strap length is not a 24½-inch handle drop. The Husky and Dachshund tote listings give strap length and strap width, but do not separately state handle drop. You cannot use that length alone to confirm clearance over a particular coat or shoulder.
Trace the handle, then look at the space beneath it
Strap length describes a measurement along the strap. Handle drop describes the vertical space between the top of the bag and the top of the handle when held in position. Those follow different paths. Attachment points, the curve of the handle and how it is held affect their relationship, so simply halving the listed length does not establish the actual drop.
The Husky Eco Tote Bag specifies two straps, 24½ inches long and 1 inch wide. Its catalog picture shows the handles above the bag. The photograph is helpful for recognizing the design, but it has no measurement reference that verifies shoulder clearance.

The Dachshund Eco Tote Bag lists the same strap dimensions. Its size guide also lists a 16-inch bag width, 14½-inch height and 5-inch depth. The height refers to the bag in that chart; it should not be substituted for the handle drop.

Make your jacket the comparison condition
Take a bag you already find comfortable and try it with the outer layer you expect to wear. Note how much room you want under the handle and where the bag sits. This gives you a useful personal reference, not a universal sizing rule.
Before ordering, ask for the actual handle-drop measurement and how it was measured if shoulder fit is decisive. The current product copy does not supply it. Avoid promising yourself that a bag will fit over a bulky sleeve merely because its straps sound long.
Separate clearance from carrying comfort
Both listings specify an open main compartment and a 30-pound weight limit. Neither statement tells you how a loaded bag will feel on your shoulder. Handle width, your chosen load and your preferred carrying position still matter. The stated maximum is not a recommendation to carry that amount.
For a practical use case, try the return-and-borrow library plan. Check available options in Dog Lover Tote Bags and review the return conditions before purchase.
Current inch-based product specifications checked October 20, 2026, US Eastern time. Handle drop remains unconfirmed; no physical fit or load testing is implied.
